Internal and Outreach activities conducted during the Celebration of Vigilance Awareness Week-2022 (31st October to 06th November) over Indian Railways


Under CVC’s guidance, the Vigilance Awareness Week, 2022 has been observed across all over Indian Railways from 31st October to 06th November, 2022 and the theme for this year is “Corruption free India for a developed nation; भ्रष्टाचार मुक्त भारत-विकसित भारत”.

            Indian Railways has organized the Vigilance Awareness Week in a motivated environment with a passion to sensitize the common man against the menace of corruption. During the week, special efforts were taken on following issues:-

  1.  Vigilance pledge was administered on 31.10.2022 by Member(O&BD), by the General Managers (GMs) in Zonal Railway, by the Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs) in the Divisions and at all other locations by the Unit Heads, to launch the celebration of the Vigilance Awareness Week.
  1. Internal and Outreach Activities

 Banners and Posters were displayed at various locations of public interface.

  1.   Webinars/Skits and Customer Grievance redressal camps were conducted.
  2.  Workshops/sensitization programs, competitions such as debates, quiz were organized for employees and other stake holders on policies/procedures and on Preventive measures.
  3.   E-magazines or Vigilance Bulletins consistent with the theme of the Vigilance Awareness Week were published by respective Zonal Railways.
  4.   Railways website are being used for dissemination of employees/customer-oriented information as well as to make available avenues for redressal of grievances and good practices adopted.
  5.    Social media platforms, such as bulk SMS/e-mails, WhatsApp etc. were used extensively to spread awareness. 

3.   Further to facilitate the integrity pledge and to expand the base of pledge taking employees/outside persons, the following method were adopted by Ministry of Railways.

  1. The Integrity pledge was circulated on a mass scale to all the CUG users of Railways through a text. Railway personnel received the text with the CVC pledge link.
  2. A link was posted on the IRCTC website so that whenever a passenger booked a ticket using his IRCTC website the link opened up for the passenger to take the integrity pledge.

4.  To mark the event, a vigilance programme/seminar was organized at Northern Railway Headquarters, Baroda House, New Delhi on 31.10.2022. The programme was attended by General Manager/Northern Railway, PED(Vig)/Railway Board and many Senior Railway Officers and staff. During the programme, activities like Nukkad Natak, Unveiling of Vigilance e-Brochures etc. were conducted to commemorate the occassion.
