Initial training was provided to 150 Constable Recruits of Railway Protection Force at Regional Welding Training Institute, Kharagpur for 08 months from 01.12.2019 to 31.07.2020. On successful completion of training on 18.09.2020, Passing Out Parade (POP) of 143 Constable Recruits was organized on 19.09.2020. Seven Recruits left the training on getting better assignments. The Recruits belong to different parts of the country. The Zone wise allotment is SER-67, SR-67 & SWR-09.

        Due to COVID-19 pandemic, the training was partially disrupted as the RWTI/KGP was utilized as Quarantine Centre by the Railway authorities. All the trainees were then shifted from RWTI to ZTI. Apart from the regular training they were also trained in swimming and driving. There were Range Classification, Indoor and Outdoor examinations conducted for bringing out the best in the recruits. Chest No. 133, Shri Rakesh Kumar was adjudged the all round best recruit, Chest No. 130 Sukhbir as Outdoor best recruit and Chest No. 142 Sundara Pandiyan as the Indoor best recruit respectively.

        Shri D.B. Kasar, IG-cum-PCSC/SER presided over the function as the Chief Guest. Shri Manoranjan Pradhan, DRM/KGP alongwith DIG/RPF/SER, DSCs of South Eastern Railway and other dignitaries was also present. The events like Tattoo Show, Horse Jump, Bolero Jump, Cross Sword jump, tiles breaking, juggling etc. were performed by the trainees. The entire programme was live-streamed through Social Media (You Tube link - rpfztikharagpur) for the guardians & relatives of the Recruits and others. The programme has also been highlighted in print media, electronics media and social media.
