        In this volume, side by side with the Rule number, the number of corresponding rule in the fundamental Rules or in the supplementary Rules has been indicated in brackets, the abbreviation ?F.R.` standing for Fundamental Rules and ?S.R.` for Supplementary Rules.

 ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

             After publication of the Indian Railway Establishment code, Volume I in diglot edition in 1985, Volume II is now being brought out in diglot edition.  The Official Language Wing of the Ministry of Law has rendered great help to Ministry of Railways in bringing out the said edition by translating the Code into Hindi for publication.  The Ministry of Railways acknowledge the valuable cooperation rendered by the Official Language Wing in the matter.
