                             Sub:- Permissible carrying capacity of BCCW tank wagons.


1.0       Board have decided to fix the chargeable permissible carrying capacity of specially designed privately owned BCCW tank wagons to CC+2 tonnes for loading bulk cement in loose condition on a permanent basis.

2.0       Further, in terms of Board’s letter No.TCR/1394/2004/2 dated 04.11.2004, the permissible carrying capacity of all types of 8-wheeled BG wagons,  has been enhanced by further 2 tonnes for loading loose/bulk commodities under certain conditions stipulated therein.  It has also been decided that enhancement of permissible carrying capacity by further 2 tonnes in terms of  Board’s letter No.TCR/1394/2004/2 dated 04.11.2004 will be applicable to BCCW tank wagons also for loading of bulk cement in loose condition, as per the same terms and conditions laid down in the letter. 

3.0       The punitive charges and the loading tolerance beyond the permissible carrying capacity will be applicable to BCCW tank wagons also as per the provisions of the Gazette Notification No.909 of 18.10.2004. 

4.0       These instructions will come into force  from 22nd  November, 2004. 

5.0       This issues with the concurrence of Traffic Transportation, Mechanical Engineering and Finance Directorates in the Ministry of Railways. 

6.0       Issue necessary instructions to all concerned and acknowledge receipt of this letter.
