  Sub:- Revision of Iron Ore classification 


          Sanction of the Central Government is hereby accorded to revise the classification of Iron Ore from Class-120 to Class-130 for trainload movement and from Class-125 to Class-135 for wagonload movement.  The revised classification will be applicable to the entire group of Iron Ores in their different physical forms namely Iron ore, Iron ore fines, Non calibrated lump Iron ore, Calibrated lump Iron ore, Iron ore powder, Iron ore pellet and Iron ore natural pellet as rationalised  in the Railway Budget 2003-04 and notified vide Rates Instruction No 11 of 2003 dated, 27.03.2003. The revised classification will be effective from 29.10.2004. 

This issues with the concurrence of Finance Directorate in the Ministry of Railways. Please issue necessaryinstructions to all concerned for taking immediate action.  Receipt of this letter may be acknowledged.
