Rates Circular No. 42 of 2004

GOVERNMENT OF INDIA (BHARAT SARKAR)
MINISTRY OF RAILWAYS (RAIL MANTRALAYA)
RAILWAY BOARD

No.TCR/1017/2000/11

                                New Delhi, dated    11 .10.2004

The General Managers (Comml.),
All Indian Railways.

The General Managers(Optg.),
All Indian Railways.

                                                               Sub:    Mini Rake Scheme.

Reference is invited to Board’s letter of even number dated 22.03.2004 wherein it was advised that the Mini Rake scheme would remain inoperative till 30.09.2004.

The matter has been reviewed in Board’s office and it has been decided to keep the Mini Rake scheme in abeyance further till 30.09.2005.

As the Mini Rake scheme was launched to attract the short lead traffic, which was hitherto moved by road, zonal railways may indicate whether the traffic attracted under the scheme was a new traffic (i.e. captured traffic) or whether the existing full rake traffic was diverted to the scheme as mini rake traffic.  After analyzing the demand and pattern of the traffic under the scheme, Railways may send a detailed report by 31st December, 2004 for consideration of Board so that the feasibility to make the scheme operative again could be considered.

This issues in consultation with the Traffic Transportation Directorate and with the concurrence of Finance Directorate in the Ministry of Railways.
