SUB: Transportation of 5000 Quintals of wheat to notified flood
affected areas of Assam and Bihar free of charge.
Sanction of
the Central Government is accorded, as a special case, for the
transportation of 5000 Quintals of wheat as relief material by rail, free
of charge, from Delhi to Patna/Darbhanga and Guwahati for distribution to
the flood effected districts of Bihar and Assam. 2500Quintals wheat will
be booked for Patna/Darbhanga and 2500Quintals wheat will be booked for
Guwahati. The material will be transported on the condition that the
State Governments of Assam and Bihar will be the consignee respectively
and that this wheat will be distributed by the State Governments as
gratuitous relief to the people of flood affected areas.
2. These
consignments will be moved on priority subject to operational feasibility.
3. The
consignments will be booked solely at Owner’s Risk, and no claim for any
loss or damage to the consignments carried under this special arrangement
will be entertained.
5. Special care
shall be taken by the Railway’s Traffic Accounts Office for maintenance of
separate accounts for such bookings. Railways will ensure submission of
reports for this traffic booked and freight forgone to Board’s office by
15th of the following month as per the procedure laid down in
Board’s letter No.2003/ACII/45/5 dated 07.08.2003.
6. This issues
with the concurrence of the Finance Directorate in the Ministry of
Railways.
7. Necessary
action may please be taken and receipt of the letter acknowledged.
