Freight rebate on
Ammonia (Anhydrous Liquefied Gas) and Phosphoric
Acid moving
in privately owned tank wagons.
Further to Board's letter number
TCR/1644/96/2B dated 18.09.2002 (Rate Instruction No.61 of 2002), it has been
decided to grant the following rebates for Ammonia
(Anhydrous Liquefied Gas) and Phosphoric
Acid moving in privately owned tank wagons.
This rebate will be
effective from 01.08.2003 to
31.03.2004 for the streams notified by the Operating Department of the Zonal
Railways in consultation with Traffic Transportation Directorate in the Ministry
of Railways from time to time.
The rebate in freight charges for both Ammonia (Anhydrous Liquefied Gas)
and Phosphoric Acid in privately owned tank wagons may be allowed at the time of
booking in respect of those parties who have paid the annual maintenance charges
in advance at the commencement of the year. It may be ensured that the transfer of tank wagons from
owners of such wagons to parties hiring such tank wagons for transportation of
the commodities has the prior approval of Traffic Transportation Directorate in
the Ministry of Railways.
Prior to the notification of the rebate in freight to parties involved,
the Railways may enter into an agreement for
the transportation of the above mentioned commodities in privately owned tank
wagons with the parties.This issues
with the concurrence of the Finance Directorate in the Ministry of Railways.
