Sub:
Classification of "Zinc
Skimmings"
Sanction of the Central Government is hereby accorded to classify and charge
"Zinc Skimmings" with composition of more than 65% zinc, less than
1.25% lead and 0.1% cadmium under the mainhead "Zinc Dross" at
Class-135 in wagonloads and at Class-130 in trainloads with "Carrying
Capacity" weight condition.

This commodity will be placed under the Main-head 'Zinc Dross'
in Chapter I of Goods Tariff No.43 Pt.I, Vol.II as under:-

2.
'Zinc Skimmings' required to be transported by train should be
packed hermetically in sealed steel drums.
The commodity when offered for loading should invariably be
accompanied with a certificate from the shipper/consignor that the
composition of Zinc Skimmings consigned conforms to the composition
specified above and will not evolve flammable gas when wet or comes in
contact with water.
4.
This issues with the concurrence of the Finance Directorate in the
Ministry of Railways.
