Sub: Transportation of "Sugarcane for distribution as fodder for
cattle" to notified drought affected areas of Jaisalmer free of charge.

Northern Railway's DO letter No.50-T/FODDER/TGT dated 09.04.2003 addressed to Member Traffic, Railway Board.
Post-facto
sanction of the Central Government is accorded as a special case for the
transportation of one rake of sugarcane free of charge consigned by the District
Magistrate, Muzaffarnagar to the District Magistrate, Jaisalmer for distribution
of sugarcane as fodder for cattle in the notified drought affected district of
Jaisalmer. All other conditions
currently applicable for the transportation of fodder and water free of charge
to the drought affected districts, as stipulated in Board's letter of even
number dated 09.10.2002 (Rates Instruction No. 65 of 2002) apply in subject case
also.
This should not be treated as a precedent.
This issues with the concurrence of the Finance Directorate in the
Ministry of Railways.
