No.TCII/2161/99/SRC/Policy. Ministry of Railways have decided to
reduce the age criteria for men from the present 65 years &
above to 60 years & above for admissibility of Senior Citizen
concession under S.No. 39 of Annexure to Rule 101 of IRCA Coaching Tariff
No. 25 Part. I (Vol. II). This CONCESSION will be admissible ON TICKETS PURCHASED ON AND
AFTER 1.4.2003 . Now all senior Citizens, men as
well as women, of the age of 60 years & above will be entitled to 30%
concession in Mail/Express fares of all classes and all-inclusive
composite fares of Rajdhani/Shatabdi/Jan Shatabdi group of trains. In
cases of tickets already issued for travel on & after 1.4.2003, refund
of difference of fares will not be admissible. There is no change in other
terms & conditions mentioned in the above quoted rule. This issues with the concurrence
of Finance Directorate of Ministry of Railways. Wide publicity through various
media, including Public Address System at stations, may be given at
regular intervals. The information
in respect of this concession, presently being displayed at
stations/reservation offices through Notice Boards, may also be
updated. Necessary
instructions may be issued to all concerned including PRSs, immediately
and implementation ensured. Also please check this message in E-mail box. Matter most
